Size: 36" long by 24" wide by 15" high Materials: Wenge, Pomelle Sapele, Holly, Waterfall Bubinga, Jatoba, and Mother of Pearl Description: This piece was purely experimental. The imagery on the top of the table is of the Milky Way, a spiral galaxy. The spiral lines are Holly inlay with hundreds of Mother of Pearl circles of various sizes inlayed along the spirals to represent bodies in the galaxy. The faded effect along the spirals was achieved with coloring and bleaching. The top is finished with Polyester polished to a mirror sheen and the base is finished with Medium Rub Conversion Varnish. |
